Gallery

The property

Willow gardens, a lily pond crossed by a wooden bridge, the pool and its deck, and the villa itself — photographed across the seasons.

The Property

The villa
The villa at the centre of everything — and the balcony people end up on, watching the lawns empty out at dusk.
The garden path
The path through the flowerbeds, with the Zabarwan closing the view at the end of it. Five minutes, taken slowly.

Gardens & Grounds

Willow lawn
Willows leaning low over the grass. Pull a chair under one and the afternoon takes care of itself.
The front lawn
Roses, clipped hedge, mountains behind — the lawn you cross barefoot on the way to breakfast.
Lunch on the grass
A table for four under a parasol, out on the grass. Lunch that runs well into the afternoon.
The terrace
The terrace under its parasols, set and waiting. Tea at four, and nobody hurrying you off it.
The gazebo
Lunch laid under the gazebo, with the willows moving just past the table.
The lily pond
The timber bridge over the lily pond — the long way round to your cottage, and worth taking every time.

Pool & Outdoor Living

The pool
The pool in the open, loungers down one side, and the mountains at the end of every length.
The fire pit
The fire lit at dusk, kilim cushions along the bench, the cottages glowing behind. This is where the evening ends up.
The pool deck
The pool a few steps from your door, shaded whenever you want it to be.

Dining

The dining room
Laid for dinner under the timber ceiling — one chandelier, and the kitchen working just through the door.
The restaurant
The restaurant from the garden, doors open onto the lawn. Eat inside or carry it out, as the day decides.

The Boutique

The boutique
Shawls and stoles on the shelves, a low seat to consider them from, and no one rushing the decision.

Weddings & Events

The lawn laid for a wedding dinner
Tables on the lawn in front of the villa, lights strung overhead — a wedding held here, and the evening it turned into.
Floor seating set for a wazwan
Carpets and bolsters laid for a wazwan, lanterns in the trees, the Zabarwan behind the cottages. Dinner that is still going when the lanterns are the only light left.
